nothing beats sitting at your desk next to the window; studying on a rainy Saturday afternoon. I hope this will be the kind of temperature Singapore has. (:Since the exams are near, I would like to start with a reflective post, about Grades.
Grades. They are the little numbers that gauge you against the whole nation, or on a bigger scale, the WHOLE WORLD.
They put everything, (their whole life probably) into getting good grades like their intellectually-smarter counterparts. (Instance, me with an RGS girl.) When they fail to achieve what they want to achieve, they take it hard upon themselves.
Many a time we have seen the papers: Teen jumps because he failed Os... Teen slashes herself because she got lousy results from prelims... Teens do this... teens do that.. and even once a JC guy jumped down because his genitals were too small.
Okay, I digress.
I mean, there's nothing wrong that grades are used to judge one's competence on the whole world, but they AREN'T EVERYTHING. Who cares if you get an A1 for, say, Physics, if you want to get into law school? You don't say in a courtroom, "According to my circles and Newton's Law of Gravity, I hereby say that my client is not guilty."
You must be thinking I am probably writing this because I'm attaining really lousy grades, but that's the truth. Heck, grades CAN'T measure a person's capabilities, grades CAN'T sort out who is stupid and who isn't. There shouldn't be a limitation to one's capabilities. Grades CAN'T DO THAT AT ALL.
Some people may say that education can really give you a good job. I'm not saying it can't, but look at this. Undergrads are now OUT OF JOBS, and they will only accept you if you were in the Ivy League. They may also say that those uneducated people in life who succeed are merely just lucky.
In a nutshell, grades should not be the only way that can judge one's potential, as our abilities can never be judged by grades alone.

The trailer for Rain's First Movie!The trailer, for Park Chan Wook's new movie Cyborg Jiman, Kweichana (You're A Cyborg, it's okay [but somehow, when translated from Korean, it means, I'M A CYBORG. So which is which?]), starring Im Soo Jung and Rain, is here!
This trailer ROCKS! xD
But it makes me think of the Apple ad that copied the George Orwell book 1984... The one where Im Soo Jung was in a factory. But the BMW Truth short film which he acted with his mentor, Jin Young Park, was sorta "boring." (It's rated M18, when it doesn't have any violence lor...) But I'm defintely going to watch Cyborg.
Im Soo Jung... haven't seen nor heard of her Korean dramas. Heh. But I'll see if she's any good though.
OH, and THE KISS. Heh. It's like, in IJUKSA, (A Love to Kill), he was practically sucking everything outta -whatdoyoucallheragain- Shin Min Ah. I'd prefer it if he was sucking Kim Sa Rang's face. Because I lke her better in the show. MWAHAHA.
The one he did in Full House with Song Hye Gyo was "small fry" (Just a peck on the lips), but well, maybe he just wasn't too experienced. HEH HEH.
He only did the Cyborg kiss in 2 takes. HEH HEH, this shows how experienced he really is.

The teaser poster of director Park Chan Wook's new movie 'Cyborg jiman gwenchanah (Cyborg but okay)' was revealed with the two main cast, Lim Soo Jeong and Jeong Ji Hoon.
The photo shoot for the teaser poster took place on Jeong Ji Hoon's birthday this past 25th of June. The poster features the main catchphrase 'This Year's Couple of Shinsegye Mental Hospital' along with Lim Soo Jeong's cunning smile and Jeong Ji Hoon proudly wearing a peculiar paper mask.
'Cyborg jiman gwenchanah (Cyborg but okay)' is a romantic comedy drawing the love story of a girl that believes she is a cyborg (played by Lim Soo Jeong) and a guy who says it doesn't matter if she is a cyborg (played by Jeong Ji Hoon).
The movie is scheduled to be released in early December.

That's all I can summarise in 3 words.
Although Yehenara (The Empress Cixi) wasn't Kit Chan [we had the matinee show], the performance was brilliant.
The story was really touching and stuff like that. Made me cry at one part where life was all unfair for Yehenara.
Hossan Leong was so darn funny man. His appearence and persona hasn't changed since I met him 2 years ago on the set of Champs Challenge.
But I hated the part when they announced that the show was starting, ALMOST all the students in the theatre were wolf-whistling *WHOOOOOOOOOOO!*. They shouldn't do that. =( Annoying.
I heard one patron remark behond me, "This is NOT a cinema."
My sentiments exactly. I should write a letter to the Straits Times forum.
Faith said she was torn between marrying Hossan Leong or Mr Sng.

Appearence and Relationships + Friendships.Relationships are, certainly not based on our looks. What a cliche. This is practically what everyone says, but do they keep their word? Loving someone for who they are, not for their wealth, body or appearence. Looks are only skin deep.
How exactly are appearences important to us? Would you like a hot boyfriend/girlfriend that would push you around when you're married? Or rather, would you opt for a average-looking boyfriend/girlfriend that will treat you nicely, and till death do you part?
Obviously you'll choose the latter. If you choose the top one, something's wrong with your mental state.
But it's natural that we choose friends and partners because of their looks. It is natural that we are more receptive to good looking things. Man loves beauty.
But we must always remember, looks are only skin deep. It is the character, the core that seperates everyone from us. Physically, we're all made of the same stuff. It's just the heart that seperates us into individuals. It seperates the good and the ugly.

The singers Rain (24) and Se7en (22) enter Oricon's Top 10.
Rain, who released his Japanese album, ranked number 6 in Oricon's Daily Album Chart while Se7en, who released his Japanese single, ranked number 10 in the single chart.
They both released their recordings on September 13. Rain's 1st single "Sad Tango", which was released in January ranked number 11.
He then released his second single "Freeway", which ranked number 9.
His album "Eternal Rain" ranked the highest place in the Oricon Chart. Park Jin Young, Bang Shi Hyuk and other composers participated in this album, which includes songs like "Eternal Rain", "Sad Tango", "Freeway", "Oh Yeah" featuring AI and the English version of Sad Tango.
Se7en's single "I Wanna" was released after one year since his 3rd single. Se7en's single "Hikari", which was released in February last year ranked 25th.
In May of that year, he released his 2nd single "Style", which ranked 9th and his 3rd single "Start Line", sold in October, rose to 3rd place.
His album "FIRST SE7EN", released in March, ranked 8th in the chart.

Rain's fans are angry! Upon the release of Rain's 4th album next month, fans have flooded Rain's website with their protest. According to them, the concert held on 13th Oct at Jamsil Stadium won't be successful.The first reason of their protest is: Why is the concert held on weekday? Since this is Rain's first release of new album after two years, many people would like to go for it. Yet JYPE did not consider the local fans from other cities. They strongly opposed to JYPE's decision to put the concert on Friday.
Fans also worried about concert venue. Even though Rain is the most popular singer, the stadium is unlikely to be fully occupied 40 thousands people. Moreover, this open space might have problems with audio effects and stage limitations. During his preparation, Rain had discussed with international stage professionals.
According to them, the performance effects are not guaranteed because of the significant echo. The great unsatisfactory of fans also raised rumour saying that the organiser may consider to change the date of concert. However, spokesman from STARMENT, the concert organiser insisted, "Decision was made accordingly. We expect total audience of 40 thousands, and 10 thousands seats are reserved for foreign fans. It's impossible to change the date."
A fan said regretfully, "I hope Rain and the organiser can focus on the local market instead of overseas markets. Even though there are many foreign fans, the most 'useful' one are always the Korean fans." [jjbug: not meant to offense overseas fans but they just expressed their comment]

Annyeong!I'm currently in Heart of God church now, the seminar by Pastor Joakim was really an eye-opener. Now crapping away with Darren (Mr Song) and Nelson. (: Wasn't posting too much the last few days because I was playing Halo 2 on Xbox and watching Goong at the same time HEH.

Happy Teachers' Day!It's the 1st of September. Teacher's Day. Songsaengnim. What's so good about them?
They have brought us through our learning journey, helping us deal with teen issues and stuff like that.
But we'll never forget them. Dealing with unruly classes, boisterous boys and giggling girls must have been a really tiring job.
